Not sure about you, but sometimes when we are suffering from an allergy, the symptoms are pretty intense – from a never-ending runny nose to the reddest of itchy eyes – our bodies are actually trying to help us. Hard to believe, I know.
Mast cells identify the allergen and want to fight it and push it out of us. Sounds good, but the process often makes us feel less than well.
So, why do we feel so bad, other than the obvious?
It’s the histamine.
The mast cells use histamine to ward off the allergens.
It may be comforting to know that the symptoms we suffer through are actually signs our body is fighting the allergy.
